Use your ROAMiQ Display Screen as a Victron display

Use your ROAMiQ Display Screen to view your Victron system. Connect your Cerbo GX to the same network, open the automatic Victron tab, or set a custom URL.

Already have your Cerbo connected?

Turn on your ROAMiQ Display Screen and connect it to the same network as your Cerbo GX. When the display detects the Cerbo, the Victron tab appears automatically. Tap it to open your Victron system.

ROAMiQ checks http://venus.local/gui-v2 by default. If your Cerbo uses another address, follow Use a custom address below.

Set up a new Cerbo GX

Before you start

  • A powered-on Cerbo GX.
  • Your router’s Wi-Fi name and password, or an Ethernet cable.
  • A phone or computer for initial setup.
  • Your ROAMiQ Display Screen connected to your router’s network.

Connect by Ethernet

Plug the Cerbo’s Ethernet port into a LAN port on your Peplink or other router. Once connected, your ROAMiQ display can detect it on the same network.

Connect by Wi-Fi

1

Connect to the Cerbo’s Wi-Fi

On your phone or computer, open Wi-Fi settings and select the Cerbo’s network, named something like venus-XXXXXX.

Enter the Wi-Fi key printed on your Cerbo’s label. Use your own device’s details, not the placeholders in the illustration.

2

Open the Cerbo interface

Open http://venus.local in your browser. If it does not load while connected to the Cerbo’s Wi-Fi, try http://172.24.24.1.

If prompted to sign in, enter your Cerbo’s access password.

3

Join your router’s network

Open Settings → Connectivity → Wi-Fi.

Select your router’s Wi-Fi network and enter its password. Wait for the network to show Connected.

Reconnect your phone or computer to your router’s network if you want to continue using the Cerbo interface there.

4

Open Victron on your ROAMiQ display

Make sure your ROAMiQ Display Screen is on and connected to the same router’s network.

Once ROAMiQ detects the Cerbo, tap the Victron tab.

Use a custom address

If your Cerbo does not use venus.local, point ROAMiQ to its IP address or another reachable Venus address.

  1. Open the menu → Settings → Dashboards on your ROAMiQ Display Screen.
  2. Scroll down to Victron Venus OS.
  3. Select http:// in the protocol dropdown and enter the address in the URL field, including /gui-v2/. For example: 192.168.1.102/gui-v2/.
  4. Tap Save in the top-right corner.

Replace the example IP with your Cerbo’s actual address. Together, the protocol and address form http://192.168.1.102/gui-v2/.

Victron tab not appearing?

  1. Check that the Cerbo and ROAMiQ display are powered on and connected to the same network.
  2. From a phone or computer on that network, open http://venus.local/gui-v2/.
  3. If the name does not work, try the Cerbo’s IP address with /gui-v2/, then enter that working URL in ROAMiQ’s Victron Venus OS settings.

Optional: prepare for ROAMiQ Hub integration

Planning to connect your Cerbo to a ROAMiQ Hub later? In the Cerbo interface, open Settings → Integrations, scroll down to Server Applications, and turn on MQTT Access.

The screenshot below shows MQTT Access enabled.

For ROAMiQ Hub integration, open Settings → General → Access & Security → Local network security profile and select Weak or Unsecured.
