Connect Your Rixens PowerBox to ROAMiQ
Connect your Rixens PowerBox to the van's Wi-Fi using Infrastructure Mode, check firmware compatibility, and enable it in ROAMiQ Setup.
Before you start
Infrastructure Mode connects the PowerBox to your van's router so ROAMiQ can communicate with it over the local network.
Before you start
- The Rixens PowerBox and your van's router are powered on.
- You have a phone, tablet, or computer with Wi-Fi and a web browser.
- You know the van's Wi-Fi network name and password, and ROAMiQ is connected to that network.
Connect the PowerBox
Join the Rixens Wi-Fi network
Power on the PowerBox. On your phone, tablet, or computer, open Wi-Fi settings and look for a network whose name starts with RIXEN, followed by letters or numbers, such as RIXENB7B7.
Connect using the default password 12341234. If that password was changed during installation, use the password supplied with your build.
Stay connected if your device reports that this network has no internet. You're using it to access the PowerBox directly.
Open the dashboard and check the firmware
While connected to the Rixens network, enter http://10.10.10.10 in your browser's address bar.
Look for WiFi Setup. Check the firmware name under Settings > About on the Rixens interface or control screen. Some versions show Menu > About instead.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| U2 anywhere in the firmware name, or HW at the beginning | The firmware has Rixen's built-in updater. These versions should provide Infrastructure Mode, but the marker alone doesn't confirm the latest firmware is installed. |
| Neither U2 nor HW | Rixen's classifies this as legacy firmware with a different update procedure. Check its update guide before continuing. |
| No WiFi Setup or no Infrastructure Mode | Pause network setup and check for the appropriate firmware update. |
Use Rixen's official firmware update guide to check the available firmware and the correct update method for your board. After updating, reconnect to the Rixens network and open http://10.10.10.10 again.
Connect to your van's router
Open WiFi Setup, then select Infrastructure Mode.
Choose your van's Wi-Fi network, enter its password, and confirm or save the settings shown on the page. Choose the same local network used by ROAMiQ, rather than a guest network or the campground's Wi-Fi.
Allow the PowerBox to join the router. Your browser may lose its connection while the network settings change.
Enable Rixens in ROAMiQ
Reconnect your phone, tablet, or computer to the van's Wi-Fi if needed.
In ROAMiQ Setup, open Addons and turn Rixens Powerbox On. Allow setup to finish.
Tap Save & Apply at the bottom of the list. The add-on doesn't start until you save.
Check the connection
Open the Rixens controls in ROAMiQ. Confirm that the PowerBox is available and its readings appear.
If it remains unavailable, confirm that the PowerBox joined the intended router and that ROAMiQ is on the same local network. The router's connected-device list can help confirm the PowerBox joined successfully.
Troubleshooting
I can't see a RIXEN Wi-Fi network.
Confirm that the PowerBox is powered on and move closer to it. If it was already configured, check your router's connected-device list or ask your installer whether its network name was changed.
10.10.10.10 won't open.
Confirm that your device is still connected to the Rixens Wi-Fi network and hasn't switched back to another network because internet access is unavailable. Enter http://10.10.10.10 directly in the browser's address bar. This address is for the direct setup connection; after joining the van's router, check the router's device list for the PowerBox's assigned address.
My firmware says U2 or HW, but WiFi Setup is missing.
Those markers identify the built-in updater, not the latest release. Check Rixen's firmware update guide for your board, then check again after updating. Contact Rixen's or your installer if Infrastructure Mode still isn't available.
The addon is on, but ROAMiQ can't connect.
Check the selected Wi-Fi network and password in the PowerBox setup. Confirm that both systems use the same local network and that neither is on a guest network that isolates devices. If the PowerBox is connected but still unavailable, contact support with its firmware version and the status shown in ROAMiQ.
